Bio

“A commanding voice and a distinctive melodic sensibility rooted in the folk rock tradition with shades of gypsy jazz and pop underpinnings. Her compelling vocals and evocative lyrics bring to mind Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell, yet her voice is her own."

“It is in the spaces between the lines that her unique voice invites us into an intimate connection with her stories”.

Harriet holding guitar “My musical journey began in Montreal, where I wrote and performed throughout the high school and college years. I moved to the the Middle East and had the opportunity to perform with many international artists. As the founding Musical Director for a truly ground breaking theatre troupe “The Gypsies”, I was privileged to be working with Israeli, Palestinian, European and North American actors and musicians.
We staged original musicals, performing in Arab and Israeli communities promoting peace. I returned to North America inspired, with a strong vision for my own music. Vancouver has been home for some time now; raising a family and creating music which I hope, resonates.”

”If her songs both soothe and startle us, it is because they manage to at once traverse and strip away the layers of moments and experience wrapped around the deeper questions propelling us. Like conversations overheard, their meaning gathers, finds us, invites us in.”
